Getting the plugin
Install Straumur Payments for WooCommerce from the WordPress plugin directory, or search for it under Plugins → Add New in WordPress.
Requirements
| Minimum | Tested up to | |
|---|---|---|
| WooCommerce | 8.1 | 10.8 |
| WordPress | 5.2 | 7.0 |
| PHP | 7.4 |
What the plugin does
- Sends the shopper to Straumur's Hosted Checkout and brings them back to your store.
- Updates the WooCommerce order status from Straumur webhooks — do not rely on the shopper's return alone.
- Supports automatic capture (default) or Authorize Only for manual capture. Authorized orders are placed on hold until you capture them from the order screen.
- Full and partial refunds from the WooCommerce order screen, sent through the Straumur refund API and confirmed by webhook.
Setup
- In the plugin settings, enter the API key and Terminal Identifier from the Merchant Portal. See API Keys.
- Copy the Webhook URL shown in the plugin settings and register it as a webhook endpoint in the Merchant Portal, subscribed to the payment events. See Webhook configuration.
- Test with the test cards before going live.
